Moxibustion

This is a treatment that uses a particular variety of an herb called mugwort, known as Artemesia argyi.  The dried herb may be burned on the handle of a needle, above the skin, on salt or on a slice of ginger.  This technique is used to “warm” and nourish acupuncture points or other areas to quicken the healing process, especially for imbalances of deficient and cold natures.
