Jenny Johnston, L.Ac. Dipl.O.M, FABORM, Sports and Women’s Health Acupuncturist, offering acupuncture, therapeutic bodywork, botanical medicine, nutrition and lifestyle counseling to plant and grow seeds of wellness and vitality in her patients. She has practiced acupuncture since 2011, and bodywork since 2005.
Jenny enjoys offering effective treatments for pain relief and injury recovery. She works two days per week for Solis Acupuncture, a pain management clinic contracted with Kaiser Permanente. She earned her degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in 2011, and is certified in advanced training for Sports Acupuncture Medicine, Trigger Point and Dry Needling. Jenny apprenticed with local Sports Acupuncture experts Frank He, L.Ac., QME, DAOM, Whitfield Reeves, OMD, L.Ac., and internal medicine expert Holly Guzman, OMD, L.Ac. Jenny trained in massage therapy and yoga instruction through Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute, Asian Bodywork Program, Heartwood Institute, and Kripalu Yoga Center.
Jenny loves to help women achieve a safe, healthy, and satisfying transition into motherhood. She is a member of Santa Cruz Birth Network and Birthpoint Acupuncture Group, and enjoys being a mother herself. In 2010 Jenny volunteered as an acupuncturist and doula at all-natural birthing and community health clinic Yayasan Bumi Sehat in Bali, Indonesia. She studied acupuncture for the childbearing year extensively with Raven Lang, M.S., L.Ac, with Claudia Citkovitz, PhD, L.Ac. at Lutheran Medical Center in New York, and with the Maternity Acupuncture Mentoring and Peer Support program with experts from around the world. She advanced her fertility experience through working for expert Angela Wu, L.Ac. in San Francisco, as a practitioner at Revive Acupuncture for Fertility in Fremont, and as a Fellow of the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine.
On a personal note, Jenny comes from a biomedical family lineage, and has a strong passion to learn about her nature and align her life with that nature. She deeply enjoys mothering two wonderful daughters, beekeeping & gardening, dancing & singing, practicing yoga and meditation, crossfit, and living gratefully attuned to the rhythms of the Earth and her wisdom.
